A10. Design Your Own Challenge: Build Something To Store Money In.

A10. Design Your Own Challenge: Build Something To Store Money In.

In this home learning challenge I made an ATM to store money in. Here are some images.
This is the first step to the finished design. And the second and third image is the inside of it.
This was fun and hard to keep it tougher, if you use hot glue it will take 5 minutes but if you use another glue it will take around 2 hours, so I don't recommend other glue.

If you look at the first image the slots are for the card to go in and push out the money. The 4 holes are for $5 $10 $20 $50 notes and the the 1 slot is for the card to push out the coins. And as the 2 and 3 image show the back and where the money comes from.

Here is some images of the design on the front and top.
This is the 2 step in the design process. This is the design I had.

And here is the finished design.

Careers Education C.V. Writing

Careers Education C.V. Writing

In CAREERS EDUCATION we have been learning to write a skills based Curriculum Vitae.

A skills based C.V. focuses more on the skills that we have,  rather than our work history.

Here is a link to our online Modelling Book that shows the process we have followed.

Three things that I have learned about writing a Curriculum Vitae are:

  1. It needs to be long but not to long.

  1. You need 2 referees.

  1. You need to have all of your details.

Here is a link to my Skills based Curriculum Vitae. (Link your C.V. here)

Evaluate Texts

Title: Reading - Evaluate Texts

In reading we have been learning to….apply some criteria to evaluate texts eg accuracy of information and presence of bias.

We have been evaluating texts against the following four criteria:
  1. Readability
  2. Accuracy
  3. Relevance
  4. Quality of language/ information.

These documents show evidence of my learning during this unit:
(link your own learning for each of these activities. Please make sure your sharing settings are open)

My Next Step: Is to continue to apply this new knowledge and evaluate texts as I read them, checking for readability, accuracy, relevance and quality of language/ information

WALT: Apply simple linear proportions, including ordering fractions

WALT: Apply simple linear proportions, including ordering fractions

A thing that I learnt was how easy it is if you get the teachers help.
Something that was challenging was trying to get it right when you are so close and then you get it wrong and it takes forever to get back up.

I can apply the strategy to problem solving questions

Please complete these two problems. You will need to explain how you got the answer.

Question 1
In our household, there are twice as many cats as humans, with sixty legs in total.

How many cats are there to be fed? 12 cats got feed.
6 People Legs= 12
12 Cats Legs=48
48+12=60

Question 2
Three men run a business together.
The proportion of the profit they each get at the end of the month is based on the proportion of the funds they have invested in the business.
The April profit is shared out so that Al gets one third, Bob gets one half and Chuck gets one sixth.
In May, Des joins the group, investing half as much as Bob invested.
What share of the profit can Des expect to get?
Al= 1/3  2/6
Bob= 1/2  3/6
Chuck= 1/6  1/6
Des= 1/4
